Greetings, You have entered the development site of the Intercollegiate Spring 2017 Cheminformatics Course, and you need to log in to see any of the material being developed for this course. Once the development phase is complete, all the material will become open access, and freely available to any instructor. If you log in you will find links to the following modules that are currently being developed and will be run in the months of February and March 2017, with April being devoted to tutored projects.
This course builds on the Fall 2015 OLCC which is available at Fall 2015 Cheminformatics OLCC, and also at the LibreText site where it has been archived. We are looking for faculty interested in offering the Spring 2017 course and further information is available here. If you wish to be involved with this multi-campus collaboratively taught hybrid course, please contact Bob Belford, email@example.com , who can provide further information and access to the course material as we are developing it.

Programmatic Access to Web-Based Chemical Information
This module will span the entire course and is designed to assist non-programming chemistry majors in gaining skills to programmatically access online public data of value to the practice of the science of chemistry.
Part I: Cheminformatics and Data Representations

This module will guide students through text based search features
- Database Searching for Chemicals: Structure-Based Search
This module will guide students through structure based search features
- Accessing Databases Programmatically
This module will build upon the Programmatic Access to Web-Based Chemical Information
- Exploring Linked Open Data
This module will delve into data provenance.
Part III: Student Projects;
Students will have a chance to team up with students from other campuses and work with experts in the field to develop original projects
