No, but at this point in the game, yes.
There is a type of acid called the Lewis Acid, which is an electron acceptor, and you will need to know about them in gen chem 2 and organic, and maybe near the end of the semester.
So at this point in the class, the acids we are talking about are all proton donors, so they must have a proton.
